Help me give my students books to read at their independent reading levels.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Cato's classroom raised $975
This project is fully funded
My Students
My school is located in a low-income neighborhood with scholars from diverse backgrounds. Nearly all scholars qualify for free school meals.
Despite socioeconomic disadvantages, our scholars deserve classroom materials that match their positive outlook on learning.
Each child is unique and deserves quality resources and experiences that will shape their future.
We are a Title I school however, it’s often a challenge to find funding to purchase materials as simple as books to fill our classroom libraries. Basic classroom supplies were given out due to the pandemic, and are now in high demand in the school building where our scholars deserve to experience high-quality education and resources.
My Project
Due to this global pandemic, many of our classroom books were sent home with our scholars, to assist during remote learning. It was important for the children to not only read on their devices, but to also turn pages and look at pictures as they read from physical books. Learning had definitely shifted from the school building, to the family home. Now it's time to balance that shift!
Many of the storybooks will not be returned- we need to restock our classroom libraries, where every scholar has access to books at their specific reading level!
Help us improve decoding skills, fluency, comprehension, stamina, and the pure enjoyment of reading!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
