I teach at a Pre-kindergarten through 5th grade elementary school located on a military base in Texas.
My school is a Title 1 school, 98% of my students have one or both parents military and a majority are deployed. Also because of the military, I receive students all throughout the year.
My Project
These books and visuals will bring into my students' lives the strength to enjoy reading. All of my students will be able to read these books during center time and I will also use these books and visuals to enhance my lessons as these books can be adapted to instruments and to singing. The visuals will encourage my younger students to learn by placing the visuals in story order and to understand the story better by including themselves into the story.
Reading is very important to the students and with the ability to enjoy reading by using these books I have chosen comes happy students!
My students thoroughly enjoy the ability to pick a book out my classroom library and to be able to read to themselves and even to their classmates.
