My Students
As a teacher in a low-income, high-poverty school district, we work with students in an ICT setting who are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, we are looking for a way children can extend their education in the classroom.
Education is the key to the future for tomorrow's leaders.
Learning is better when there are more materials to go around. Our students come to school ready to learn, but they need the appropriate classroom resources in order to deepen their knowledge. My school has very limited resources due to budget cuts. We are in need of new books for our students.
My Project
Having new books in our classroom will help us have successful guided reading and independent lessons.
Our students are becoming independent readers, and they are starting to choose their own books from our leveled library.
My students are reading in pairs, groups and independently. They enjoy speaking to their peers about the books they read. Every week our students take home five books to read at night. We need new leveled books for our students to use at home and in our classroom. Having a variety of books will give our students choices on picking books they are interested in.
