My Students
I work with wonderful students from kindergarten to fifth grade in a Title I school.
Coming to the library is an experience that students love, and creating lifelong learners and readers is a goal for our school community.
A library is a perfect place for students to read, grow, reflect, and imagine! Reading takes us places and students love engaging books and opportunities to grow their brains!
Students often come to school without a backpack or a uniform, and I know that home life isn't always the best for my students. I want to give them as many experiences as I can that they may not get otherwise. I also want to provide them with the resources and books that they might not be able to get outside of school.
My Project
Students have been stuck online for so long, it is time to engage them with some fun learning! I am hoping to get game pieces and books to go along with my library's theme this year, "Reading is a Game Changer"!
Students will have the opportunity to learn through playing and making games, as well as learning about games and their creators.
After reading about game creators like Milton Bradley and video game inventor Ralph Baer, students will have the opportunity to create their own games! They will also be given the chance to learn many library skills through different games!
