My students need mini magnetic dry erase boards to give them opportunities to independently write words or make simple CVC words using magnetic letters. They also need independent reading activities to challenge them during center time.
I have a wonderful class of 20 students in a public school in the city of Buffalo. Most of these students come from low-income households. Many students can not afford basic school supplies and I do what I can to provide them with these materials.
I have over five different languages spoken in my class, and over 30 different languages spoken in our school.
Some of my students do not speak any English at all, but they are learning. Some of these students have just come to America from other countries and some from refugee camps. It is challenging to teach students who speak limited to no English, but it is also very rewarding.
My Project
Assessing each child's growth in reading and math is essential for determining daily instruction. The mini magnetic dry erase boards allow each child to write and read simple CVC words and math activities. The teacher is able to observe each child's success or areas that need further attention. Children are given the opportunity for independence. These boards can be used in large group or small group activities.
The mini magnetic dry erase boards along with the reading activities I am requesting will help my young students become independent readers and writers.
My students have many opportunities to work in learning areas. I try to provide them with a variety of activities that will keep them engaged and learning. The Magnetic Sight Word Sentence Board will help them put words that they know together to make a sentence. It even adds the element of punctuation. This activity will go a long way to help them become writers. The Word Sliders activity is another exciting practice tool for letter sound correspondence. These activities allow me to differentiate my instruction to meet the different learning needs of my students.
