My Project

The "180 Days of Reading" workbook for Kindergarten to 4th grade will make a significant difference in students' learning by providing consistent, structured reading practice that helps build foundational literacy skills. This daily exposure to reading comprehension activities fosters a habit of reading, reinforces vocabulary, and improves critical thinking through engaging exercises. The variety of reading passages ensures that students encounter different text genres, improving their ability to understand and analyze different types of information.

The primary goal for this project is to use the workbook as a targeted reading intervention tool to help struggling readers improve their comprehension and fluency.

By incorporating daily practice, we aim to:

Boost reading confidence by offering manageable, daily reading tasks.

Strengthen comprehension skills through gradual difficulty increases in the texts and questions.

Provide consistent monitoring of reading progress, enabling timely interventions. The workbook will be especially useful for differentiating instruction, as students can work at their own pace, allowing for personalized support based on each child's unique reading level.

My students are a diverse group of learners, each with their own strengths, challenges, and unique perspectives. They are resilient, curious, and eager to learn, despite any difficulties they may face in reading. Their willingness to persevere through challenges and their diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds bring richness to our classroom. This diversity creates opportunities for creative problem-solving and collaboration, making them special and deserving of tools that cater to their individual learning needs. The "180 Days of Reading" workbook will help each student grow, no matter their starting point, by meeting them where they are and guiding them toward reading success.
