My Project
We are a Title I school located in the heart of our village. Most of the students come from hard-working immigrant, low-income families. Listening to books read aloud has been the best activity that I have experienced with my students year to year. When students see themselves in the stories we read, I see them going back to those books and really connecting, asking questions and getting excited. I want books to be something students are able to talk about with their families and get excited about regardless of their socioeconomic status or access.
