My Project
The books in this project will be used to support a new reading initiative in my district beginning next year. As a faculty, we are witnessing a steep decline in students reading for pleasure as well as their skills in reading. We have decided to make the last thirty minutes of every day a time for pleasure reading. Students will sign up to read a book that interests them, and here's the catch: they will be able to sit back and enjoy having the book read aloud to them while following along with their own copy. We hope this helps students to hear examples of good oral reading and also allows them to escape into the world of a book each day.
In order to make this as interesting as possible for students, we need a diverse selection of books across genres!
