it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students, like all high school students, sit a lot and school grows quite uninteresting to them without innovation and new experiences. In the English Language Arts classroom, we read as a whole class, individually, and in groups often. It's a lot of sitting and following along.
Flexible seating like stools, balls, and cushion chairs make a simple activity more fun-- especially when it's a privilege.
Not all students will always get comfy seating, but instead they will be used as rewards for attendance, volunteerism, participation, and other helpful behavior in the 9th, 10th, and 11th grade classroom. Please help my students stay focused while reading. Thank you!
