My students need a cart to put all of their new and used books.
My students need sight word sentence builders to learn how to form a sentence.
My students need more books.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
There is no such thing as too many books! After receiving a wonderful donation of books, my students were so excited they asked if more books were going to be shipped. How could I tell 13 Kindergarten students no?! We are requesting leveled books and a cart to hold them all.
My students are active!
Active in talking, active in loving, active in working hard, and active readers! My students are such sweet hearted children that deserve so much more then what they have and receive daily. My school is located in the heart of a troubled city where the children are faced with daily challenges. My students enjoy learning new things and brushing up on the things they currently learned. My students are getting ready for a spelling bee within the next month. Their words will come from their leveled books, old and new. They enjoy achieving many skills and reading to their 4th grade buddies. My students read each night and log their books. Some days they read the same books due to a book shortage, but they never complain.
My Project
With the products listed my students will have a cart to put all of their books, instead of putting them in bins that are located on the floor. The cart will be useful to roll all of the books around the room to different locations instead of the students sitting on the floor looking through a bin for a book. With the books listed, my students will have a variety of options, a variety of levels, and a variety of sight words to successfully enhance their learning and reading levels for their upcoming grades. My students will be able to read a variety of books to their classroom friends and their 4th grade buddies.
This donation will help improve my classrooms organization.
Instead of books being set onto the floor, the cart will give the books a safe place to be stored. The books will open a new world to my students to learn about a multitude of objectives. The sight word sentences will give my students to opportunity to make their own sentence and share it with the class. This donation will change the scary city they live into a safe haven and the love for school and reading.
