Students are encouraged to read books outside of the curriculum and explore a variety of different texts, genres, and styles to find a love for reading.
Please consider donating to this project to help fill the classroom library with sports books that appeal to several of the male students in my class!
For students less interested in reading, I try to obtain content that coincides with their interests so that they, too, can discover the joys of getting buried in a book! My male students often request books about sports or their favorite sports players. With these books, they can really enjoy reading about their favorite sport or player and still get the necessary practice of reading and exercising their reading comprehension skills.
