Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A typical day in Advisory class is the students come to the classroom and are dedicating 35 minutes to reading! They sit in their seats and pull out their AR (Accelerated Reader) book. The book can be fiction or non-fiction.
We want our students to grow in their reading ability and continue to strive to prepare themselves to be college ready.
The students will challenge themselves with big chapter books and longer series of different and diverse genres. One back at a time will allow them to strive and read their way to college!
My Project
We books to have different genres of books at their disposal. The more variety the better. These books like "Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie", "Ivy & Bean's Secret Treasure Box", and "The Selection 5-Book Box Set: The Complete Series" so they can have variety and explore the imagination.
These different books will allow the students to grow and become prepared and develop their vocabulary and much more.
The students will be able to understand different author's voices and understand the themes, messages, and morals of these diverse stories and books.
These books and stories will allow for student discussion and all for book reviews to their peers and fellow classmates. The education and knowledge will continue to rise.
