My Project
Next year, I’ll be working with a small but mighty group of third graders.
They are bursting with energy, creativity, and a love for interacting with one another, all qualities that make them a joy to teach.
However, there is a large number of students not reading at grade level. To meet them where they are, I need materials that will better support differentiated reading instruction but unfortunately, I currently don’t have the resources to meet those needs without reaching into my own pocket.
That’s where Reading Groups Galore! comes in. This project will fund a set of class binders (that can be reused for years), some unconventional but effective pizza racks to organize those binders, and Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards to purchase leveled reading comprehension resources tailored to my students’ needs. These tools will allow me to run multiple targeted reading groups that match their current reading abilities, while also helping them build their confidence and skills at their own pace. With a strong organizational system and engaging materials, I can transform our reading time into a space where struggling readers feel empowered and successful.
These students are ready to grow, they just need the right support. They are curious, imaginative, and full of potential.
