Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students love coming to school and are always eager to learn. The students in my school come from diverse backgrounds and have a variety of needs. They are enthusiastic, caring, and full of life. My students thoroughly enjoy reading, especially series books!
I work in a Title I school in Brooklyn, New York, which means my students come from low-income homes.
All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. Even though they face challenges, they are always striving to do their best.
My Project
In September, I will have an incoming group of third-grade students who have not been to school in person for over a year and a half. Many of these students have fallen below grade level, especially in reading.
These books will aid the students in moving toward reading grade-level texts.
My goal is for the students to enter a classroom library with a variety of genres and series books that will bring back their love for literature. The library is the heart of the classroom, where students will learn, bond, and grow.
