My Students
My students are a lovable set of kids who enjoy life! Many come from difficult situations and a tough neighborhood where there are a lot of factors pulling them in every direction to do the wrong thing.
When they come to school, it is often difficult for them to switch into learning mode without the right tools and materials.
As a school, we hope to help our students by giving them an excellent foundation for their further education. So many of our students are attracted to sports, and these after school activities help keep them motivated, promote a spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork, and give kids a productive outlet after school!
My Project
As the year moves along, we are learning so much in social studies! It has truly been a fun year. In this project, I am looking for some more materials for my students to enjoy in learning and practicing their skills, as well as a social studies mastery game to play and keep up their motivation in learning.
Mastering skills in social studies is often a complicated process because it is more of a content based area of study, however there are some great ways to infuse those skills into everyday learning.
My hope with the reading materials and game set is to help students along in this process. My classroom is also a 1-to-1 room, and students are able to access computers for learning! Many of them have requested more mice for the classroom so that they can use the computers more efficiently.
