FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Daly's classroom raised $176

My Students
It can be an exhilarating feeling to read and discuss a book with a friend, but my students don’t have the books to do that. Unfortunately, limited resources also limit how reading can be taught in a classroom. I want to be able to provide my students with books that will allow us to work on a buddy
Over 82% of my students receive a free or reduced price school lunch.
They come from poor families and face issues connected to poverty every day. In many of their families, education is not valued, and activities like reading are only done at school.
My Project
I hope to get my students excited about reading by providing them with an opportunity to participate in a buddy reading project. I want students to realize that reading and talking about books can be fun and exciting. The books I am asking for will challenge my students to think about reading beyond the walls of school.
My students don’t have the opportunity to do buddy reading projects at school because the school lacks the resources.
However, I don’t want the school’s lack of resources to limit the possibilities for my students. Funding this project will help change my students’ ideas about discussing books and reading for pleasure.
