My Students

My students are amazing! They have a love of learning and a love for each other! I would love to push them as far as they can go before they move on to kindergarten. Having them ready for kindergarten, will give them a jump start to being a lifelong learner and someone who loves school!

My school is very diverse and it is wonderful!

There are so many different cultures, values and beliefs, it is incredible! I love spending time with the students, not just in my class, but the older kids as well; I learn a lot from them! Students as well as teachers look out for each other at school. We are all team players and have each others best interest at heart. I would love to be able to give my students everything to help them succeed inside and outside of the classroom. With these new materials, I can give them a better classroom and new experiences. Most of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and are not exposed very often to new things. I take it as my responsibility to expose them to as much as possible. Having as much knowledge about the world around you, I believe gives you the best chance to make great decisions and a great life for yourself! I believe my students have the ability to be whatever they want when they grow up!

My Project

The last two years my students have been lucky enough to have a subscription to My Big World with Clifford magazine. I would love to continue that for my students next year. I really like this magazine because the magazine topics go hand in hand with the topics and themes we discuss in class. It is great to have another non-fiction print material that is age appropriate for my students. I also like it because after we read it in class and do the activities I am able to send the magazine home and students can share it with their parents and families. The magazines are full of color and great pictures, things I am not always able to give them. They have also loved getting to take it home! I've heard, "I can't wait to show mom." or "my sister loves frogs too!" I love seeing them make connections to things we read about and their lives. It makes what we read about much more real to them!

I am really looking forward to having this magazine next year.

I believe that reading is the key to make successful students. if I can find something that students are interested in reading about it makes the love of reading that much easier to instill in students. Every donation is one step closer to bettering the lives of students all over the country. We are working to become readers and thank you so much for all of your support!
