My students need 5 sets of books that are on their reading level to practice their reading skills in both my classroom and to borrow so they can practice reading at home.
When approaching a bookshelf it can be very overwhelming for a student to pick out a book that is on their reading level.
Our second grade students enjoy learning and being at school.
They do not let the social and economic factors that effect them and their families impact their willingness to learn. They come in each day ready to engage their minds and imaginations. Our students each face unique challenges and most have different learning abilities and work on different levels.
My Project
Each day the students spend time in a reading group learning fluency and comprehension strategies to help them become successful and independent readers. I am asking for leveled books so my students can select books that are appropriate for their reading level and challenge them based on their capabilities not what is left on the bookshelf.
Reading has such a HUGE impact on lives!
Giving a student the opportunity to read books that are on their level will help them develop the skills they will use when becoming a successful member of our society.
