Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I recently went through a training titled Orton Gillingham. This is a multi-sensory program that helps all students learn how to read. This program has been proven effective for students of all backgrounds and students with all kinds of varying needs. The training provided access to a website; however, I would like the curriculum books in order to better support my students in the classroom.
OG is a way to help all learners.
I work with a variety of students in grades kindergarten all the way through fifth grade. We have students in fifth grade even who struggle to read and write. These materials will help guide me to support all of my students in all of these grade levels. These materials also have a component for students who do not speak English. This will help my ELLs to also develop reading skills, even in their native language.
