Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am an English Language Learner teacher. I teach students whose first language is not English and have limited or interrupted formal education. Many of my students who do have special learning needs do not get identified with their learning disabilities until later years and even them they do not receiving the proper interventions to successfully learn to read by the time they reach secondary education and beyond.
I am currently teaching students who have been diagnosed with Dyslexia and are making little progress.
I have limited to zero resources to help these students in my general education curriculum. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards will help me obtain the resources I need.
I would like to learn more about how to support these students through my lessons. Research shows that dyslexic students can become fluent readers when given the proper interventions and instruction. I believe that these resources: Oral Language & Listening Comprehension and Language and Literacy for Young Learners (both on-demand) will allow me to help my students have the language and literacy success they deserve.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
