This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Reading is fundamental" So it is important that every child has the opportunity to succeed by having adequate resources (like a listening center).
These 2nd graders are awesome!
They are the sweetest kids who are eager to learn and who love a great book! These kids attend a low-socioeconomic public school where they face a high drop out rate. But everyday they come in to class, knowing that Knowledge is POWER!!!
My Project
I teach at a school in which the majority of my students speak English as their second language. As such, reading is a challenge for most of them. Therefore, by having a mobile listening center, students will be able to read books leisurely and as a learning center to work on reading skills like comprehension and also to develop their vocabulary.
So hurry!
Don't delay! Remember these kids want to succeed and you hold the key to have an impact on their learning! Help these kids enjoy listening to a good book and work on their literacy skills.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
