My Project

As an educator, one of my top priorities is to foster a love of reading and learning in my students. To create an environment that encourages engagement and inspires curiosity, I’m building a cozy, inviting reading corner in my classroom. This space will serve as a dedicated area where students can escape into books, expand their imaginations, and improve their literacy skills in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

Comfortable seating is a key element in this vision.

When students have access to comfortable, supportive seating options, they are more likely to spend time in the reading corner, increasing their reading frequency and enjoyment. Whether they are sitting on a soft cushion, a beanbag, or a child-friendly chair, having a comfortable spot to read allows them to focus more fully on the story at hand and encourages a positive association with reading.

This reading corner is not just about creating a physical space, but a safe, welcoming atmosphere where students can develop a lifelong love for reading. Through DonorsChoose, I’m hoping to get the support needed to make this vision a reality. The donations will go toward providing the seating, books, and other essential materials that will help foster a creative and supportive learning environment for all of my students.
