My school is a Title One school in south Seattle. The population at our school is very diverse. I have a huge beautiful library but it’s filled with tables that no one wants to sit at because the chairs are so big and uncomfortable.
My students and staff would love to come into a library where they could read comfortably!
I’m very fortunate that I have a budget but that gets books and other library musts. Our PTSA is just beginning and the money they collect is for our 5th graders to go to camp.
Having new seating would be a game changer!
My Project
Our school library is a beautiful space. The only thing missing is a comfortable place to sit while reading their books. Younger students can’t even touch the floor while they are reading making reading not that enjoyable.
With comfortable seating students will be able to read their library books with out the distraction of being uncomfortable.
Students will be focused on there reading, instead of trying to touch the floor.
Our students are excited about coming to the library. I would like this the be one more reason why they’d love to come to our beautiful library! Please help us get comfortable seating!
