Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Reading is extremely important in an English class. But making sure that there is representation amongst the reading materials is even more crucial to the development of our students.
This memoir will offer my students another way of viewing migration, youth, an independence.
I think they will greatly expand their minds. I would like to read this memoir as a class in order to provide feedback and be able to talk to students about difficult conversations. The students at my schools struggle with literacy but I believe books like this one can be the difference between a life long reader.
