Reading Challenge

Help me give my students a library of books to read that will inform and entertain them through the classroom book challenge.

My Project

I previously taught in 3rd grade and I do not have many books that will interest, nor challenge a 6th grade reader. Many of my books are simple chapter books, or picture books that are not challenging for older students.

Help me to purchase books that are grade appropriate for 6th grade readers.

I recently researched other 6th grade teacher blogs to see what interests 6th grade readers and I have compiled a wish list of books that I think will not only be interesting to read but also challenging for my students.

By having books on a 6th grade reading level, my students will be challenged to be better readers and develop better comprehension. Students will have the opportunity to take a 10 question test on the books they read to assess their comprehension. Having these books will also allow students to have materials to read to reach their 40 book challenge goal. In addition, I will be able to have rich discussions about books with my students.
