My students need a set of 6 soft seats, a carpet, 80 sliders for chairs, and 2 beanbag chairs to create a more comfortable and inviting reading and listening center to explore literature.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help create a warm, inviting library area for my students to get hooked on books! They like to read, but need to be encouraged to practice and investigate a variety of genres.
My second grade students come from various backgrounds.
Most speak English as their second language, and many do not have the resources for building home libraries. Most students at our magnet school come from all over Los Angeles and ride a bus for an hour or more each way. I try to create a classroom environment that they love coming to each day.
My Project
A soft, bright library rug, colorful seat cushions, and comfy bean bag chairs will encourage students to spend all their free time in the reading corner.(The chair slides will reduce noise so that students may concentrate and focus on their books and work better) Having a comfortable, inviting, attractive reading center at school will help instill a lifelong love of books, reading, and learning!
Donations to this project will help create a more inviting classroom space that students will want to be apart of every day.
Having colorful, soft, comfortable places to read and learn will have a huge impact on student motivation and focus.
