My Students

Our high school is a Title I, urban school with a large immigrant population. The school offers opportunities including CTAE, STEM, AP, and IB. The Media Center is the heart of the school, providing books, e-books, research, educational technology, digital citizenship, and general help. Our students are active participants in choosing books or comics and helping teachers learn to use the equipment. The room is a place where students can come to work, relax, read and even visit. The Media Center extends beyond the walls to the community.

My Project

Last year, the high school reading bowl team took the county by surprise. The twelve students decided to win and win big! They went to Regionals and brought home a 1st place trophy.

We need more books because more students want to join the fun!

We have funds for only two copies of each of the 20 books. We're hoping to add another copy of each book to make sure everyone can be a part of the team.

These award-nominated books are an amazing selection across genres including a graphic novel and a biography. Help us make reading in high school something to be proud of.
