This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing human beings! They are full of life and have endless potential to do so many wonderful things. My school is a Title I school in a poverty-stricken community.
Our school consists of a very large English language learner population.
All of our students receive free breakfast and free lunch. Many of our parents struggle to help meet the needs of school supplies and the needs of their children. Regardless of these circumstances, my students overcome! They are learning how to face challenges and grow stronger academically, socially, and emotionally, preparing them for the next level of life.
I believe that these students deserve every opportunity this world has to offer and I am determined to help them get it. These students can change the world with their brilliant minds and can climb out of the cycle of poverty through the gift of education. They will learn that the world is theirs for the taking with hard work, dedication, and knowledge.
My Project
"Mr. Potrzeba, we don't have enough room for our books." - a student told me the other day. We've had to add bookshelves in years past, and now the need has arisen again.
It's a good problem to have when you have too many books and not enough bookshelves.
With your help, we can add two more dynamic bookshelves that give us more space to add books and room students to sit in order to enjoy reading those books. You heard that right, these bookshelves have seating included to allow students to read, share their book love, and sit comfortably.
