My Students

Every morning, I walk into my classroom, and I know that my day will be filled with 27 amazing kindergartners. These students have an extreme amount of love for learning that I have never seen before! They love reading, writing, and doing math.

My school is located in the heart of a great neighborhood in Philadelphia.

We are a Title I public school that lacks the funding and the necessary resources, but we make do with what we do have.

My students have the desire to acquire knowledge and be engaged in the learning process. My goal is to support this intrinsic motivation with hands-on opportunities.

My Project

These books will help my students immensely! Research shows that students should be reading on their level. These independent reading books will allow my kindergarteners to read stories on their level, which is where students grow the most! These books will help my students read not only at school but also at home.

The books about kindness, children of color, and community workers will give my students an opportunity to learn about people and emotions.

Kindergarteners are the future of our world. Thus, they need to learn about these things to educate themselves about the world. My students will learn and grow so much from all of these books!
