I teach in a west-side Chicago high school. My students live in tough neighborhoods, but this doesn't stop them from reading! My students are checking books out of my classroom like crazy.
My students love going to the movies, but they often forget that many movies are inspired by amazing books. Their recent interest in the "Twilight" movie inspired me to get them reading about the movies.
I need copies of books that have been made into movies. This will inspire my students to continue the voracious independent reading they have been engaging in. This will also allow us to engage in conversations about the differences between movies and books AND talk about which we prefer!
