It would be much easier for my students to get assistance from me at the reading table if we had a kidney shaped table.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. S.'s classroom raised $232
This project is fully funded
I am a first grade teacher in an elementary school. We live in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We are a rural community of hard working parents. Our county attracts many large needy families due to varied services we are able to provide. Our school budget is cut back each year to help the tax payers. I feel it is hard to ask for money for a table when there are personnel cuts.
Please help, Kidney needed, a kidney shaped table that is for a reading group. Our primary reading time is 1 and 1/2 hours a day and groups of children meet at two different tables with a reading teacher and myself. The table we are struggling to use places the children too far away from the teacher to obtain quiet and useful reading instruction.
If we had a Kidney shaped table it would place the teacher within reach and in the center of all the children in the group. Each child would benefit from her help at the same time as opposed to waiting their turn. Many strategies and lessons happen each day in first grade. This is the grade level that is most important for a child's future of reading. It is very important that the children don't miss out on learning a new strategy to help them read.
You as a donor can help the students hear and learn all the important reading strategies they need and become better readers by proving them with a kidney table.
