My Students
My students are from the inner city of Washington, D.C.! The school has more than 80% of its students receiving free or reduced-price lunch. We are a school that strives to serve low-income families to the fullest extent.
Every day that my students walk into the room, we are reminded to leave our worries at the door and get ready to learn.
We love to dance and sing. We love listening to characters take on new adventures and we love making connections to the world around us!
My Project
We have a range of beginning and early emergent reading students in our class. To build early reading skills and behaviors it is essential that all students practice reading stories at their particular reading level. Having a selection of books will make the reading experience fun and build the confidence of my students. We use the books in small group lessons that are geared for each readers needs. As they become better readers they will also feel pride in gaining knowledge through books! Give my students the love of reading that they will need for a lifetime!
