My Students

I teach fourth grade in a Title I school. My leaders are full of life and always ready to explore and learn. I am a teacher in a low income, high poverty area. Many of my students come from single-parent households and receive free lunch. Because of these challenges, these students do not always have the necessary items they need to succeed in school.

As a teacher, I cannot control these students' home lives but I do have a say in what students have at school.

My Project

It is hard to believe that we have reached the last quarter of the school year! We have one more unit to work on this year and we will be reading Fish in A Tree. I am so excited to read this book with my students. I would like to give each of my students a copy of the book to read as we read as a class. This will also help students as we work on different reading and writing strategies. Each student will have a copy of the book which will allow them to look for details in a text, look for the theme, and analyze characters. I am excited to share this book with my students!
