This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 6th grade students love to enjoy an entertaining novel. Unfortunately, traditional desks and chairs are often uncomfortable and uninviting for reading. These flexible seating options would provide students with an incentive to curl up with a book and open their imagination. The students would have more of a desire to want to read if they have the opportunity to relax and sit in these seats.
Help my students discover the wonder of reading by providing them with a cozy spot to get lost in a book.
I believe these chairs will not only provide comfort, but a push to get students to want to read, rather than feeling they are forced. By having a special reading corner, students will begin to look forward to reading time, not dread it. This love of reading can hopefully light a spark and motivate reluctant readers to take a second chance at finding and enjoying a good book!
