This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My special education students may be a little lower on their reading levels, but that doesn't mean they don't love to read! They need to be exposed to books they can read, and also ones they want to read. I would like to add more books from some of their favorite authors. They have enjoyed books by these authors in the past. Our class is working on phonics, and reading basic level texts. I want all the students to have access to books to help the on their reading journey!
Allowing the students to have a special chair they can share in a cozy reading nook will help them find the love of reading!
In addition to the books and the chair, we would love another Osmo game to the few we already have. We don't have a lot of down time, but in the special education resource room, we may have some time for education games and reading for fun-(improving our reading levels). My students deserve some nice little extras that don't often come to a title one school's special education classroom. Please help me encourage them to read and become life long learners!
