Help me give my students materials to use during small group instruction that will deepen our learning.

My Project

These small group materials will help students learn to read and write. The word mapping write and wipe boards will give students practice word mapping and develop phonemic awareness! Covering sound mapping on one side and syllable mapping on the other, the boards feature boxes for segmenting words…dots to help children pronounce one phoneme or syllable at a time…plus arrows that allow students to blend the sounds or syllables together to say the words. There are even writing lines for printing practice. The touch-and-read cards are fun-to-use match-ups that help students read multisyllabic words or students—as they pronounce one syllable or word at a time. Students simply choose a card featuring a segmented word or a sentence...touch the textured dot under each syllable or word to decode and read the word or sentence...then find the picture card that matches.

Encoding and decoding are crucial for developing strong literacy skills.

These skills are interconnected and foundational for reading and writing fluency. These materials will give students more opportunities to develop their writing and reading skills, which will increase their confidence in school.
