Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

So many of my students have five or more risk factors, such as coming from low-income, single-parent households, having multiple disabilities, and being minority students coming from homes where English is not the primary language. Most students have autism and are enthusiastic about learning in multisensory fun ways. Sometimes they have difficulties expressing themselves with words, are easily distracted, or need motivation. Once focused, they become active learners. The use of books and writing is a common activity in my classroom, especially for my sixth-grade students who need leveled readers A- L. The clear plastic paper holders will allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. Markers and erasers are also needed and can be stored in clear plastic boxes. Mirrors will reflect how sounds are made!

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Students will be able to focus on the academic material at hand and create sensory inviting story books using scented markers and lined or unlined paper. The students love the sound of the electric hole punch to keep producing books for our spelling and vocabulary words. I am asking for materials to empower students to work in a group or independently, plus a few incentives. Thank you in advance for supporting our class to improve focus, reading, writing, and completing work to increase academic focus.
