Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are in California. We are a Title I school and are 86% economically disadvantaged and many receive free or reduced-price lunch.
As a dual language program, my students learn all subjects in both English and Spanish.
My scholars work hard and need access to high-interest class materials! They deserve flexible seating. To reach my diverse learners, I draw upon strategies that promote active engagement so that all students can participate to their full potential.
My innovative scholars are in a dual-language program learning English and Spanish. My diverse scholars are mostly all English language learners and others are native English speakers. The program fosters bilingualism and high levels of academic achievement through instruction in two languages--50% of our day is English and 50% is in Spanish.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The library cart will be used to organize our library books. In doing so, students will benefit by having a library books organized by genres which will support students in learning the genres and able to find a book of their choice. The organizational bins will be placed on the shelves in the back of our classroom and will help the Writer's Workshop process run smoothly from day to day. The sharpener will be used daily so that my students can sharpen their pencils smoothly. The sharpener will support students educational environment by having a tool to sharpen their pencil. Please help me make this possible!
