Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have 5 students who are in a low-income/high poverty school district. They have moderate to severe disabilities. I have one student with limited verbal abilities that require extra support. Most of them need sensory tools that can help. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
Despite the many challenges they face, I want to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.My students are very creative and excited to learn new things.
With the appropriate support, we will be able to accomplish a lot together as a class family. With sensory needs, they require additional support to function better in the classroom.
My Project
I want to set up a reading and writing corner for my students so they can have the space and materials to practice their reading and writing. I have added different tracing activities, writing activities, and sight word activities for students to practice.
My students find it hard to recognize and connect pictures to word so I have also added a printer to get most of the printing done in color so it looks as realistic as possible.
The bean bag is to help students feel relaxed as they try to focus on what they do. We print so much daily and having a reliable printer in the room will allow us to get more done.
