This project will provide access to the Elite Battle of the Books resources my classroom needs to be able to participate in this year's competition! It will also help to build writing skills by supplying my classroom with leveled incentives for our weekly writing to families. Our goal is to improve and support overall fluency, comprehension, and fluent writing skills this year in class!
Students will be improving their reading and comprehension skills while interacting with some stellar novels and incentive swag!
This supply list includes all of the Elite BOB books. Students in my classroom will be participating in battles in the spring after they have read each of the books. This will help to support and promote literacy- fluency and comprehension, as we practice and prepare for the battles!
We also write weekly to families to communicate what we work on in class, and what's upcoming for the following week. The keychains and writing utensils will be used to encourage students to do their best writing and "level up" by providing some leveled incentives for this activity. Students will be able to progress through the levels of scripted writing, independent writing, cursive, emails, blogging, and VLOGging! As they demonstrate proficiency, they will earn the swag item (keychain or writing utensil) for that level, and work toward the next one.
Gifted students often assume they know everything already, by providing challenging materials, and leveled writing challenges, they strive to improve their skills with enthusiasm! We're excited to hone and develop our ELA skills!
