Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I would love to help build my student’s outdoor learning space from the ground up. The playground equipment is very old and leaves the kids wanting to do more every day when we play outside.
I would like them to use this time to practice essential reading and writing skills in kindergarten.
Updating the playground equipment is out of my control, but I would like to offer additional learning opportunities to my students during recess. We have 3 covered spaces. I would like to set up an area for the easels so students will have the opportunity to practice their writing with chalk. In the middle covered space, I would like to set up a reading tent to allow children to read and explore books. These common areas will benefit kindergartners and special education classrooms.
