Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are dyslexic and have a hard time with reading and rhyming. I have found some fun games that focus on prefix, suffixes, sight words, spelling with scrabble, reading blends and word familes that we can play to finish out the school year. I have also found some fun prizes that are sidewalk chalk and chips to get the students excited about playing the reading games. It is my goal that they do well on the rhyming and reading to continue to keep them motivated before the end of the school year. All my students struggle daily to read with fluency and these games will be a fun way to increase fluency and practice many skills at once. I plan to have students play these games while we take our end-of-year assessments.
I know that these fun games with prizes will be welcome change of pace to help us finish out the school year.
