My Project
I am a requesting a monitor to project the UFLI reading program to all Special Education students and to involve them in the process of decoding words and phonemes and writing tasks.
Having an amazing reading monitor, cart, and supplies will encourage student growth and engage students in difficult reading tasks.
The reading cart is to hold the monitor and prevent Special Education students from throwing the monitor off the table or hurting other students with the monitor. The cart has locking wheels to prevent it from tipping or falling on other students and the cart can be locked in the closet during math groups when the teacher is not using it or when the room needs to be cleared. This is a safety precaution to keep students safe and to prevent the monitor from being damaged. The monitor can't sit on a table or desk in the classroom.
The student rewards are given to students as they pass the decoding tasks and the reading assignments on a weekly and bimonthly basis. Students will also be asked to do a pre- and post test in the program.
