My students need a rug where we can fit all 28 of our bodies to have class meetings and read comfortably. We also need an easel.

My Students
Who wants to sit in their chair all day? Who wants to sit on a cold, hard floor? Nobody! We would like a large carpet to sit on for class meetings and for reading time. The dry erase easel would also allow us to have a more focused lesson when at small groups, instead of walking over to the big board.
My students are amazing!
In fifth grade they are still young enough to be kids and be silly, but they also have the capabilities to be deep thinkers and converse on a higher level. They are giving to each other, myself, and the community. They are appreciative, hard working, smart, and hilarious!
My Project
I have always enjoyed having a daily meeting with my students to discuss daily activities, our character education lesson, class issues and resolutions, etc. I also like to have reading lessons on the floor. I feel like students spend enough time in their desks each day. I want them close to me, engaged, listening, and learning. The easel would aid in all of the above. The carpet would also be used for independent reading time. Students currently get a book and sit in the reading area, but as soon as they get uncomfortable they stop reading.
These two items would be used for years to come, and both are simply too expensive for me to purchase on my own.
It would be greatly appreciated by myself, my current and future students, and their parents.
