Reading and Math with iPad and Osmo

My students need an iPad, Osmo Kit and Balance Ball Seat to help practice reading and math skills while staying focused.

My Students

Instilling a love for learning is my goal. My students love coming in first thing in the morning to see what is in store for them, whether it is reading, math, science, social studies or writing, they love it because I try my best to make it fun and engaging and not seem like work.

Our school has students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.

We are a diverse public school with over 5 different cultures celebrated in just our class. We may have a huge range of academic abilities, but we all share the love of learning. We find our love for learning is deepened with technology.

My Project

When you come into our Kindergarten classroom you will see students who are excited and eager to learn. We are constantly in groups that allow the students to focus on and practice skills with their peers that are geared towards their individual goals. When my students are in these groups I want the learning to be engaging, hands on and fun. They must be excited about what they are doing and realize that learning is so much more than just doing flash cards of sight words or constant repetition of math problems.

With the iPad and Osmo students will be able to practice their sight words through an interactive game as well as math facts.

They will use the ball seat to help get the wiggles out and stay focused on their activity.

With a class of 20 and so many groups that are both teacher led and independent. I need the independent centers to be engaging and keep students active in their learning so I can focus on the group I'm teaching. By having access to the technology of the Osmo on the iPad, they will be able to play games with peers and practice their skills in a fun way.
