Reading and Learning Together

Help me give my students an opportunity to work closely together safely. Small group instruction is essential for struggling readers.

My Students

My classroom consists of students with various reading abilities. In order to differentiate to meet this challenge, we need supplies that will enable small group, safe interactions. Due to our school being a Title I school, many students face disadvantages in learning. Approximately three-fourths of our student receive free or reduced-price lunch.

All of my students have been identified as struggling readers via test scores.

These students enjoy learning; However, they are learning at a slower pace than their peers.

Working in small groups with the teacher motivates their desire and enjoyment of learning to read. This process has changed due to covid-19. My students truly need to work with each other as well as in small groups with the teacher.

My Project

With keeping all students' safety in mind, having protective screens are essential. Struggling readers need opportunities to work with the teacher and other students. Having screen guards will enable them to work in small groups and communicate with each other and/or the teacher safely.

Having 3-Way see through barriers will lessen students' sense of aloneness while enhancing their feelings of belonging.

Students will be able to share their thinking and understanding verbally in a safe environment.

Dividers that are easy to sanitize also aids in keeping students safe from germs.
