Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am seeking support to expand our classroom library with books from the Magic Tree House series in Spanish. These books are a perfect blend of adventure, history, and imagination that captivate students and support their language development. They are especially impactful for my bilingual and Spanish-speaking students, offering them access to literature in their primary or second language. Recently, we read a Magic Tree House book together as a class, and my students were completely engaged—eager to find out what would happen next. Many of them asked if I had more books from the series, particularly in Spanish. While I do have a few titles, they are not enough to meet the demand.
By adding more Spanish editions of this series, my students will be able to practice reading comprehension and build vocabulary in a meaningful, enjoyable way.
The familiar characters, relatable themes, and exciting plots help students develop independent reading habits. Most importantly, these books spark curiosity about the world and foster a genuine love of learning.
