My Students

This little crew is always ready and willing to go above and beyond, no matter what the task. They love to have fun, but they also love to learn. That is what I love about them. They never let anything stand in their way, not even the fact that more than three-fourths of our school population is considered below the poverty level. They are so determined to prosper and grow.

Their little brains are like little sponges that soak up anything and everything I can throw their way.

The more I throw the more they long for. It's amazing that their little heads can hold so much information yet yearn for more.

My Project

Reading with my students and to them is my favorite part of the school day. I love to read to them and I hope that they see my excitement and carry it with them throughout their lives. By putting books in their hands that they can hold and have and treasure I am hoping to give them that love and excitement.

Dr Seuss has created such a love of reading throughout America with his zany, silly books.

I want to created that same love in my small little town in South Carolina. I want my little ones to leave my room at the end of the year with a stack full of books that they can read by themselves or with their families and to always have a special place in their heart for reading.

Please help me gift the love of reading to my students by providing each of them with a variety of Dr Seuss collectables, but, most importantly, a Dr. Seuss book of their own.
