My Students
Have you ever had the desire to do something but found you did not have the materials needed? This is a problem my students are faced with every day.
I teach fourth grade in a low income school.
We have a high population of ESOL, LD self-contained, and resource students. I have students who have the desire to read but not the materials. Many times my students come to me with very little reading experience, outside of school.
My Project
With today's economic crisis it is difficult to get additional materials to supplement the needs of our students. Nonfiction leveled readers will help me meet the needs of every child in my classroom. This will assist them in becoming more fluent readers, familiarize them with nonfiction reading material, and help to create a love for reading.
By supporting this project you will not only help make my students more fluent readers but will share with them the wondrous world of nonfiction.
This exposure could inspire my students to make decisions that could change the world around us.
