Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 4th grade students are motivated to learn and always strive for their best. However, the pandemic and gaps in their schooling have definitely affected their growth and progress both socially and academically.

My goal for this year is to help all of my students become leaders in my classroom, their school, and their communities.

What makes my students special is their drive, passion for learning new things, and excitement about being back in the classroom.

Out of my 19 students, 6 have IEPs, 2 receive speech services and 4 students are English Language Learners. All of my students are driven and care about their learning and have many goals for the future.

My Project

These books will make a difference in my students' learning because they will provide them access to diverse, relevant, and interesting books at various reading levels. In my classroom of fourth graders, I have a very wide range of reading levels in my room - from grade K to the middle of grade 4.

I want to get all of my students to fall in love with reading, as well as take away important lessons from the texts that they read that will help them become strong individuals and leaders in the present and future.

By providing students with books at different reading levels and that revolve around relevant and interesting topics, my students will become more engaged in readers and will be ready to take on the world.
